The Young Israel of Bedford Bay and Madison, established in 1943, is dedicated to providing the community with a warm friendly place to pray, study, and develop friendships that last a lifetime.
The Young Israel of Bedford Bay was formed with the main purpose of fostering and maintaining a program of spiritual, cultural, social, charitable and communal activities for the advancement and perpetuation of traditional Orthodox Judaism and integrating the observation of Judaism into the American way of life. Membership in the Young Israel of Bedford Bay is open to anyone of the Jewish faith who is 18 years or older and professes a belief in Orthodox Judaism. The Young Israel of Bedford Bay was established as a branch member synagogue of the National Council of Young Israel in late 1943 and was incorporated in the State of New York in August of 1944.
Some of the programs and services which we offer, because of their religious nature are restricted to members of the Jewish faith only. Other non-religious programs and services are open to the community at large. Both men and women participate in our programs and utilize our services. The majority of our programs and services are offered free of charge. A very limited number of programs and services entail a nominal fee. |
