None of the books may be taken home, but may be enjoyed on our premises.
Our Brown Street buiding houses a library with texts spanning five millenia printed across three centuries.
The library's books are organized into three sections: TaNaKh and commentary, Talmud and commentary, and Shulkhan Aruch to present. Texts include expected texts such as the Schottenstein Talmud as
well as rarer texts such as the Jewish Encyclopedia.
The library is available for use during the week after 5:00 PM and on Shabbos afternoons for two hours before mincha through the end of Shabbos. For access, see Paul Wallace or David
Geliebter.
In the social hall in the basement of our Brown St. building, stands a bookcase that is just over 5.5’x8’. This bookcase, which David Geliebter and Hailey Reatz planned, planed, built, stained, and varnished in the summer of 2025 specifically for our weekly Books & Baroque event, includes sections of comic books/ graphic novels, woodwork/ tools, fiction-writing, 31 Flame Tree Publishing Gothic Fantasy titles, sheet music/ music, cookbooks, art, manga, children’s literature, reference books, Webster's Deluxe Unabridged Dictionary, and the Complete Shakespeare. This library is perfect for someone who wants to participate in our synagogue’s events without wanting a religious element.
In addition to during Books & Baroque (Monday nights between 5:00-8:00 P.M.), this library can also be enjoyed during our weekly Groups for All Ages (two hours before Shabbat mincha until mincha). For access during other times, speak with David Geliebter.
In the lobby between our two buildings in a youth library containing both religious books and secular books. Kids enjoy stepping out of
services to grab an armful of books from here to bring back to their pew to read during davening.
This library is accessible whenever the building is open.
